Breakfast at Hotel and then, leave for full day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi visiting Jamia Masjid, enjoy rickshaw ride in narrow alleys of old Delhi through Kinari Bazaar and 400 year old Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, Crematory of Mahatma Gandhi, Birla Temple, Parliament House, Presidential House, India Gate, Government buildings & Qutab Minar. Welcome dinner will be organized at Village Restaurant Bistro with Indian Cultural dances.
Early morning - New Delhi to Ladakh, perhaps the most fascinating flight over Himalayas. Its landscape, sky, shooting stars, silence, wizened faces, dragons and Zen – everything makes Leh a quite place to visit. Arrive in Leh and you will be transferred to Hotel Kanglachan / similar for overnight stay. Leh is on 3300 MSL. Hence, it is necessary to acclimatize for a day. Evening - Take a stroll to a nearby village known as Chengespa, where you can see one of the oldest chorten.
Breakfast at Hotel and then, leave to visit Stok Palace Museum. The Queen of Ladakh still lives in this Palace. Leh, the capital of Ladakh, a beautiful destination with many attractions, is the center of Tibeto-Buddhist Culture for ages. Its colorful gompas have attracted the devout Buddhists from all over the globe. Besides, it is also a favorite hiking locale and is known for some of the best hikes in the country. More than the palace, it is the surrounding views of Barron Mountains and formation which are extraordinary. Return back to the Hotel, en route visit the SOS children camp of Tibetan and finally, time to roam in the bazaars of Leh. Afternoon - a walk to the fort of Ladakh.
Breakfast at Hotel and leave to Ultopoko, en route visit Monestry Rizong, the school where young lamas are taught Buddism. Finally, arrive at your Uletopko camp site. For sake of words, this is a camp site; however the location of this camp, site and facilities puts this camp in many ways better than a Hotel. You are surrounded by peaches & apple trees and you are right on a Hill cliff over the river Indus.
Breakfast & leave for Lamayuru, another ancient monastery believed to be made by sowing a seed of barley in a pond. However, your journey to this place allows you to travel over Jelebi Mods (serpentine roads) and once you reach at the top, a photograph of the road you travelled up is something you cherish to possess. In front of the Lamayuru, you will believe why the name of this tour is Moonland. Exactly the same formations of Land are visible as on the moon. Visit the Lamayuru monastery and afterwards, drive back to Leh via Alchi Monastery which has murals dating back to 11th century and is perhaps one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Continue your drive towards Leh and another stop will be Pyang Monastery and finally at Spituk Monastery.
Morning - Leave for Nubra via Caravan, which is all that what you have heard and read & reach the world's highest motorable pass, Khardung - La at the altitude of 5800 MSL.
Continue your drive to Nubra, arrive & check in at deluxe tented accommodation with all meals.
Morning - Visit one of the oldest monasteries in greater Himalayas at Dixit. Nubra is located near the strategic Siachen glacier, on the Indo-Pak border. The Khardungla Pass, the highest motorable pass in the world, is located nearby. Nubra has been thrown open to tourism only recently, and offers some spectacularly beautiful landscapes. One of the peculiarities of Nubra that make it a special place is the co-existence of water, mountain and desert!
Breakfast & drive to Shey, the summer Palace of royal family with a lake in front of it. In front of it, His Holiness Dalai Lama has his Ladakh residence. A small drive ahead takes you to Thiksey where you can see the biggest Buddha statue. Finally, we travel to the most revered and richest monastery of Ladakh, The Hemis. This monastery is nestled between two mountains and has many things of great importance.
Breakfast & time to say Good-Bye to this Land of Lamas & Moon, you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight for New Delhi. Arrive at Delhi & explore few hours in the busy markets. After the farewell dinner, you will leave for International airport to board the flight back to your country.
